SFC Joseph Burdulinski, Ret. Receives ‘Old Glory’ Batwing® Cutter!
In November 2022, we announced the donation of our ‘Old Glory’ Batwing® cutter to the Farmer Veteran Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting military service members working in agriculture.
It’s our honor to officially announce the recipient of Woods® ‘Old Glory’ Batwing® cutter, Sergeant First Class (retired) Joseph Burdulinski! SFC Burdulinski, Ret. is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He is a Purple Heart recipient and served in the U.S. Army from 2004 – 2019. His deployments include Afghanistan, Kuwait, South Korea, and he was on the ground during Hurricane Katrina protecting and serving those impacted by the disaster.
Today, SFC Burdulinski, Ret. owns and operates his own cattle ranch near Lott, Texas – Roman’s Empire Farm and Ranch. He plans to use ‘Old Glory’ primarily for managing pasture and expanding his hay business. In his application essay for ‘Old Glory’, SFC Burdulinski, Ret. says it’s his goal to start producing his own round bales, expand his hay business, begin hiring other veterans to work on the ranch, and ultimately use his farm as a teaching facility for future farmers and ranchers.
“Agriculture was part of my childhood,” he said. “My mother taught me how to start seeds and transplant them into our garden. My father was a produce manager for 40+ years. He would bring me to work with him on Saturdays. I saw how passionate my father was about his work which led me to continue and acquire my own passion for agriculture.”
We are thrilled for SFC Burdulinski, Ret. and look forward to seeing his ranch grow and expand with the help of ‘Old Glory’.
