Woods Supports Future Turfgrass Professionals at UW–Madison Summer Field Day

Woods Equipment participated in the Wisconsin Turfgrass Association Summer Field Day on Aug. 4 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, connecting with faculty, current students, alumni, and industry supporters while showcasing the new TurfWarrior™ Rough Cut and Finish Mower.

As part of our 80th anniversary commitment to supporting the next generation of agriculture professionals, we sponsored both the event and UW–Madison’s Turfgrass Apprenticeship Program. The program helps prepare students for careers in turfgrass management, grounds maintenance, and related industries.

“The sponsorship from Woods really blew me away,” said Doug Soldat, professor and chair of the UW–Madison Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences. “The support from Woods will reduce the financial burden on the students in the Turfgrass Apprenticeship Program and make it possible for some who may not have had an opportunity without the support. The UW-Madison Turfgrass Apprenticeship Program is extremely grateful for the support!”

The event provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the program’s impact and strengthen connections with the students, educators, and industry leaders helping shape the future of turfgrass management.
