I replaced my 11 year old BW180XHD with the BW15.72 recently. Actually, if I had made a list of improvements from my old cutter, and build one from the ground up, the 15.72 would be perfect! Some highlights I’d like to share: The Level Lock system is great, and should help keep those wings level in uneven ground, making everything less susceptible to wear and damage, as well as giving a nice level cut. I’m picky about that sort of thing.
The Smartlift is a huge improvement when connecting the main driveshaft to the PTO. I foresee much easier hookups, and less sweating with that. That heavy driveline just slid right on, and locked into place. Other great features are the wing hinge shafts are fitted with very sturdy hinges with lots of grease fittings that grease the entire shaft. The number and location of all grease fittings on the cutter, as well as the chart about when and how much grease to apply are helpful and should prolong the life of this cutter! The added lights and wing lock system are great for how I transport the batwing cutter from project to project! I feel much safer now knowing I have greater visibility to others during transport. Another feature I like is the magnetic shields on the drive line system. Great access, that is quick and easy to access those areas for maintenance, but sturdy and secure when cutting. This cutter runs SMOOTH! I really thought I’d have a break in period with this new cutter where shimmies and shaking because of all the new parts is common, not so with my 15.72! I accidentally had the best example of this smoothness happen the first time I used my cutter.. I had placed a can of spray oil on the front of the center deck of the 15.72, while working on my tractor and forgot I put it there. The next day, I had to use the cutter on 4 acres across the road that needed cutting. When I was blowing the deck off when done, that can of oil was still there!

The BW15.72 has exceeded all of our expectations. This unit has great cut quality, is easy to maintain and cuts whatever we need it to with ease. The small enhancements such as the hose holder and PTO holder make hooking up the cutter much easier than previous models. We look forward to continuing to use this machine for many years to come.
